list is only available to paid-up members, who will be provided with
a username and password.
The University of the Third Age is a self-help organisation that enhances the quality of life of its members through participation in a wide range of activities. Membership is open to anyone retired from full time employment. Membership Secretary is Peter Roberts (01920 830604).
Monthly meetings, with a speaker, are held on a Thursday, in Castle Hall, Hertford starting promptly at 2pm. Doors open at 1.30pm. Most activities, however, take place in interest groups run by members. They are listed in this Directory. Only paid up members of the U3A may be members of a group. You may however attend as a visitor for one or two meetings before paying a subscription.
Some Groups are “open to all” but most require that you become a member. To join a group, contact the Group Leader. If the group you wish to join is full, or if there is no group that caters for your interests, tell the Groups’ Co-ordinators who will create a waiting list. They are delighted to help members, old and new, who would like to start a new interest group.

Where no venue is specified, meetings generally take place in various members’ homes. *** denotes a group has no formal membership and is “open to all”. More “open to all” activities are advertised in our monthly newsletter ‘Contact’ together with other Group news.
